The Jeweller’s Art

The size of the gem
Its colour, cut, clarity
Can still be held by your
Hands, the same as mine
What real wealth
And worth is
Gleaned through the fact
It has value in the giving
The number merely effort
Catching, and discussing
Physical art
Gilt timepieces
Reflecting out curious time
To sit comfortable and talk
Celebrate the occasion
The fiancé, colleague, then
And only then with a flourish
Polite goodbyes
And the human within the stone
